An elegant new reality was born in Tbilisi!

In the heart of the historic cente, located in Elene Aklevediani st. #4, the Vinotel combines hospitality, wine and local food in a stylish atmosphere and at the same time warm and exclusive.

Two Georgians entrepreneurs Alex Klimoff Popkhadze and Berdia Berishvili renovated a classic Georgian style building and tastefully decorated respecting the history of Tbilisi, main crossing point of the ancient Silk Road, giving a unique and personal touch.

Alex Klimoff Popkhadze is already well known in Tbilisi for his famous restaurant Le Cabernet.

 The complex is a 3 floors characteristic Georgian building, in a central area and at the same time exclusive and in a quite location. On the ground floor there is the reception and an elegant hall that emphasize the hub between East and West joining the brick of the Georgian cellars with the asian furniture. A stylish lounge bar overlooking an outdoor terrace with a tidy garden is a perfect place to enjoy a brunch or an after dinner athmosphere. An elegant meeting room in a classic style can accommodate business meetings of 20 people.

Downstairs there is an amazing wine cellar lounge with a great selection of the best Georgian wines.
It is made up of three zones for wine testing associated with local dishes, and in the center is located the acclimatized wine cellar that retains the old architectural features.

Cuisine has entrusted to the loving hands of Guram Baghdoshvili, chef of great experience built in Portugal. The Georgian cuisine is processed in the European version, almost creating a "Nouvelle Georgian cuisine" or rather an "Art Georgian cuisine" as the owner prefers to title it.

Vinotel remains particularly exclusive and suitable to individual and groups of 15-20 people who want to reward themselves in a festival of tasting, followed by a professional sommelier.

The hotel rooms are very refined, wooden floor and offering the warmth and confort of this elegant structure. In total there are 13 rooms, one presidential with a private hammam, large living room, large bedroom, than 1 charming suite, 4 standard rooms on the second floor (first floor for Europeans) from 18 to 23 square meters and 7 economy rooms on the third floor (second floor European ) in mansard style slightly smaller but all the rooms have beds with mattresses in latex, top quality and ultra comfortable, elegant bathrooms with all the amenities of an exclusive hotel.

L'edificio è decisamente caratteristico su 3 piani, in una zona centrale e allo stesso tempo esclusiva in quanto gode di piena tranquillità. Al piano terra reception e una hall che da subito risalto al passaggio tra occidente e oriente unendo il mattone georgiano della cantina al mobilio orientale. Sempre al piano terra un elegante lounge bar che si affaccia su una terrazza all'aperto con un ordinato giardino. Una elegante meeting room con predominante legno, può accogliere meeting di 20 persone.

Al piano sottostante una spendida cantina con una selezione di 4500 bottiglie di vino.

L'ambiente si divide in tre zone di degustazione vino e piatti tipici locali che guardano alla sofisticata e moderna cella vinicola che conserva le caratteristiche archittetoniche del passato.

Particolare attenzione alla cucina affidata alle mani sapienti di Guram Baghdoshvili, chef di grande esperienza maturata soprattutto in Portogallo. La cucina georgiana viene elaborata in versione europea, quasi a creare una "Nouvelle Couisine Georgiana" o meglio una "Art cuisine georgiana" come preferisce definirla il proprietario.

Vinotel rimane particolarmente esclusivo e indicato a individuali e gruppi di 15-20 persone che vogliono premiarsi in una kermesse degustativa senza precedenti, seguiti da un professionale sommelier.

Le camere dell'hotel sono molto raffinate, pavimento in legno e riprendono il calore elegante della struttura. In totale vi sono 13 stanze di cui una presidenziale con hamman interno, ampio salone, ampia camera da letto, 1 romantica suite, 4 camere standard al secondo piano (primo piano europeo) dai 18 ai 23 mq e 7 camere economy al terzo piano mansardato (secondo piano europeo) di dimensioni leggermente inferiori ma tutte le stanze hanno letti con materassi latex di prima qualità ultra confortevoli, bagni raffinati con tutte le dotazioni di un hotel esclusivo.

Georgia: Good Wine Good Holiday!

Where you ever landed for a holiday and the policeman at the border in addition to the usual stamp on the passport, has smiled you and given a bottle of wine?

During the Christmastime the Georgian government , as well as in the past made the predecessors of the other political party,  made a warm welcome meeting to their new arrived hosts at the airport in Tbilisi.

And that it was not done by a smiling hostess but by the same border personnel, giving even more importance to the famous local hospitality, combined with the symbol of the Georgian tradition, the wine .

Yes, if Italians and French could be considered rightly the most talented winemakers, they cannot avoid to confirm that the mother Georgia is probably the ancient native land and promoter of this tradition, nowadays getting prizes and international awards.

The Georgian word Gvino is the primary root of the word “wine, Vin, Wine” and all its history is lost in the mists of time.

I'm not here to tell you how many grapes, flavors, rites are practiced in a Georgian table, I invite you to come and discover them.

Definitely to get a free bottle of wine , the best red grape Saperavi , produced by one of the renowned local company, Khareba , is a good start for a holiday!

Dove siete mai atterrati per una vacanza e il poliziotto alla frontiera oltre al timbro di rito sul passaporto, vi ha elargito un sorriso e una bottiglia di vino?

Durante le festevità natalizie il Governo Georgiano, cosi come in passato fecero i predecessori di altra parte politica, ha pensato bene di fare un' accoglienza diversa al nuovo arrivato in aeroporto a Tbilisi.

E che la cosa sia stata eseguita non da ridenti hostess ma dallo stesso personale di frontiera, dà ancora più importanza alla famosa ospitalità locale, unita dal simbolo della tradizione georgiana, il vino.

Ebbene si, Italiani e francesi che si ritengono forse a ragione i più bravi nella produzione vinicola, non possono non confermare che la madre Georgia è probabilmente l'antica terra originaria e promotrice di questa tradizione, ottenendo oggigiorno premi e riconoscimenti a carattere internazionale.

Lo stesso nome georgiano Gvino è la radice primaria della parola Vino, Vin, Wine e tutta la sua storia si perde nella notte dei tempi.

Non sono qui per raccontarvi quante uve, quali sapori, quali riti si praticano in una tavola georgiana, vi invito a venire e a scoprirli, provarli.

Senz'altro ricevere una bottiglia di vino dell'uva migliore, Saperavi, prodotto da una delle rinomate aziende locali, Khareba, è un buon inizio per una vacanza!

Nuovo volo Tbilisi Napoli nel 2015 ?

La fine del 2014 ha visto l'Alitalia recedere sulla rotta diretta Roma - Tbilisi, trasformando l'unica coincidenza diretta sulla capitale georgiana in volo stagionale e portando le prossime partenze a fine marzo 2015.

Quando mi ritrovai di fronte a questo cartello, strabuzzai gli occhi....rotte dirette da Tbilisi per New York, Parigi Londra e Napoli... per un millesimo di secondo pensai "finalmente qualcosa di fantastico e intelligente sul piano degli interscambi Italia Georgia".

Sognavo ad occhi aperti. 

Il tutto è il frutto di una simpatica pubblicità ideata da un romantico creativo georgiano per una famosa compagnia locale di produzione latticini e derivati, che ha ideato una promozione nei centri commerciali locali per il lancio di un dessert chiamato Amore, creando un desk di degustazione come fosse un banco accettazione aeroportuale e ponendo la stessa promoter in abito da hostess con un bella divisa blu cobalto, pronta a consegnare al posto della carta d'imbarco, un cucchiaino bianco per l'assaggio del prodotto.

Interessante notare come Napoli sia stata inserita dal creativo georgiano come "città dell'amore" insieme a New York, Londra e Parigi e nominando la (purtroppo) inesistente compagnia come Amore Air.

Purtroppo inesistente, ma quanti migliaia di italiani e georgiani metterebbero la firma per un vero volo diretto Napoli -Tbilisi? Pensate solo che la Turkish airways vola a pieno regime da Napoli a Tbilisi con coincidenza via Istanbul, con uno stop massacrante di 6 ore.... ed il volo è pieno!

L'Amore Air non esiste...non ci resta che addolcirci il sogno degustando il dessert in attesa che realmente nascano collegamenti aerei diretti tra Italia e Georgia (anche i charter non ci dispiacciono).
